Ngee Ann Polytechnic Graduate Homepage

Graduates of Ngee Ann Polytechnic may be eligible for 3 to 12 units of credit (UOC) advanced standing against the Diploma in Innovation Management, depending on what modules they undertook at Ngee Ann.

The following advanced standing options may be available for Ngee Ann graduates:

a) 3UOC in recognition of the completion of Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s 4-6 month full-time 3rd year Industrial Attachment Programme module.
The advanced standing would be against the Innovation in Practice component of the UNSW Diploma in Innovation Management. Students eligible for this advanced standing would be able to take the 3UOC course, INOV4501 Innovation in Practice Analysis to fulfil the remaining 33UOC for the Diploma.

b) 6UOC in recognition of the Industrial Attachment Programme and the completion of a prescribed set of Ngee Ann modules offered by the School of Interdisciplinary Studies.
This set of modules would form an Innovation and Enterprise module.Ngee Ann graduates must have completed the following Ngee Ann study plan in order to be eligible for 6UOC advanced standing:
Level 2.1.
Core: Understanding Financial Statements
Plus one of:
Starting a Business
Business and the Economy
Fundamentals of Marketing
Level 2.2.
Core: Innovation and Enterprise (I&E) in Action
Level 3.
One of:
Introduction to Financial Services
Corporate Communication.

6UOC advanced standing options against the Diploma in Innovation Management:
Option 1
INOV4001 Bioentrepreneurial Process (6UOC)
Option 2
SCOM2505 Science Communication Project A (3UOC)
INOV4501 Innovation in Practice Analysis (3UOC)
Option 3
INOV4101 Innovation in Practice A (6UOC)

c) 12 UOC in recognition of the Industrial Attachment Programme and the completion of the Ngee Ann Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise.
12UOC advanced standing options against the Diploma in Innovation Management:

INOV4001 Bioentrepreneurial Process (6UOC)
INOV4101 Innovation in Practice A (6UOC)
Option 2
INOV4201 Innovation in Practice B (12UOC)
Option 3

Ngee Ann students are able to receive advice from both Ngee Ann Polytechnic and the Entrepreneurs in Science Unit at UNSW on which advanced standing option is the most appropriate for their individual circumstances.

Existing arrangements are in place for advanced standing against Bachelor degrees for students from Ngee Ann, and are not affected by any of the above options. Ngee Ann students may be entitled to a maximum 50% advanced standing against most science-based Bachelor degrees (i.e. 2 years advanced standing against a 4 year Bachelor degree; 1.5 years advanced standing against a 3 year degree).
