Structure of the Diploma in Innovation Management

The Diploma in Innovation Management requires students to undertake 36 units of credit (UOC) of additional study taken concurrently with an undergraduate degree. Studies commence in Week Zero of Semester 2 in the second year of undergraduate study and continue throughout the remaining two and a half years of their undergraduate degree program.

INOV2210 Business Planning for Small Businesses (3UOC) (S1)
INOV2110 Business Start Up Skills (3UOC) (S2)
INOV3100 Strategic Communication (3UOC) (Week 0 and Mid-session break, S1)
INOV4001 The Bioentrepreneurial Process (6UOC) (December, X1)

Stage 3 or 4 (dependant on individual student's primary degree study program)
BIOT3071 Commercial Biotechnology (6UOC) (S1)
BIOT3091 Professional Issues in Biotechnology (6UOC) (S2)

Note: BIOT3071 and BIOT3091 courses can be taken as part of the student's B.Sc program providing approval is given by relevant program authorities and/or the Science Student Office.

Note: For the award of the Diploma in Innovation Management, students must complete all courses in the study plan. Students who take BIOT3071 and BIOT3091 courses as part of their BSc program must complete Innovation in Practice courses at a sufficient UOC level to meet the total 36 UOC requirement for the award of the Diploma.
